Play Studio is a special for all K-2 students at the Primary School. In Play Studio students will have the opportunity to engage in open-ended free play. The environment is set up in a way that meets the play personalities of all students. You will find opportunities for pretending, building, creating, inventing, tinkering, exploring, and sensory play. The materials will be open-ended so children can do the thinking and imagining.
The focus of the teaching in Play Studio is on social-emotional development and STEM learning skills. There will be a big focus on our 5C's (collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, citizenship) and the design thinking process.
In Play Studio, the student's job is to play, make decisions and activate their creativity. The teacher's job is to create an authentic environment for students to practice all of the skills the students are learning and to observe and support them in the moment.
