My name is David Garcia Carro, and I am the Spanish teacher for Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. I’m excited to work with you and your child as they learn Spanish and explore the many cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.
In Spanish class, students learn through songs, stories, games, movement, hands-on activities, and collaboration with their classmates. The goal is to help students build confidence as they listen to, speak, read, and understand Spanish in an engaging and supportive environment.
Throughout the year, students will build their communication skills in Spanish through learning vocabulary and language structures connected to topics like greetings, weather, numbers, family, food, animals, and everyday conversations.
I will also share student portfolios that highlight their work, growth, and progress in Spanish class. I’ll provide resources and practice to be used at home, to support their learning, so families can stay connected to what we’re doing in class.
